MEET OUR FOUNDERS

Hi, we are Toby and Mika Slough.

Married since 1985, Toby and Mika Slough met at Abilene Christian University and have been walking through life and ministry together ever since.

Their journey with mental health became personal in 1988 when Toby was diagnosed with panic and anxiety. What began as one of the hardest seasons of their lives became the foundation for the work they do today. Together, they've learned that God's presence doesn't always remove our struggles, but He is always with us in the middle of them.

Toby speaks, writes, and teaches from his own experience, helping people discover that they are not alone and that hope is possible. Mika brings a steady, compassionate presence to every part of Goby, encouraging families and helping lead the ministry behind the scenes with wisdom, care, and intentionality.

In 2021, Toby and Mika founded Goby with one simple mission: to help individuals, families, and churches connect to God's power in the middle of mental health struggles. They believe the local church can be one of the safest places to have honest conversations, and they believe that because God is with us, we can do hard things.

MEET OUR STAFF

Jennifer Day

COO, Pastor, Director of Content Creation

Jennifer leads the Goby team and ensures our content points people to the hope and healing found in Jesus. Outside of work, Jenn spends time with her husband and her three amazing adult kids. Reading, writing and cheering on the Texas Longhorns are her favorite ways to recharge.

Montanna Christoffersen

Digital Pastor, Marketing Strategist

Montanna is a storyteller and creative who helps shape how Goby’s mission shows up in the digital world. Outside of work, she’s big on slow mornings, deep conversations and quality time with her favorite people (especially the tiny ones who call her Miss Tanna). Faith and family are her anchors, basketball is just a close runner-up.

Ross Slough

Pastor, LPC-A, Course & E-Commerce Director

Ross is a licensed professional counselor and provides clinical insight to everything Goby does. He contributes to the mission of Goby by creating courses, emails and other life-giving content. Ross loves spending time with family, running long distances, listening to music and eating good food.

Bailey Garner

Pastor, Director of Key Relationships

Bailey uses her gift of authenticity to build lasting friendships with families and church leaders around the country. She enjoys reading her kindle, going to football games with her family and believes a long walk in the sunshine can cure any bad day.

Michelle Slough

Creative Director, Graphic Designer

Michelle loves all things design and uses her creative talents to positively impact the mental wellness of others. When she is not diving into a new project, you may find her spending time with friends and family—or wandering the aisles of Target (because let’s be honest, it’s a hobby at this point!).

Chase Trimmier

Coach, Pastor Engagement & Coaching

Chase helps pastors connect with Goby through coaching and relationship-driven engagement. He supports pastors as they step into coaching with clarity and confidence, ensuring each relationship reflects Goby's heart for long-term health in ministry. He also serves as the Campus Pastor of The House Argyle, giving him the opportunity to walk alongside people both in local church ministry and through Goby's work with pastors and church leaders. Outside of work, Chase is usually running after one of his four kids, eating at a new restaurant with his wife Serena, trying to catch fish that may or may not exist, working out just enough to justify tacos, or crying over the Dallas Cowboys.
